A BIT ABOUT MS AUTO TINTS & KEN WILSON
Ken Wilson, formerly Alfab Window Tinting joined the team at MS Motors in August 2013 to start up
and run an automotive window tinting division (MS Auto Tints).
Ken has over 25 years experience in the window tinting industry and started tinting cars professionally in 1987. Ken’s knowledge and experience makes him a stand out craftsman in this highly specialised field, achieving and maintaining Registered Master Tinter status, the highest association level recognised in New Zealand.
Ken has been a member of the Window Film Association of Australia and New Zealand (WFAANZ) since its inception in New Zealand in the early 90’s. The association was instrumental in lobbing the government resulting in the tinting regulations we have today after a total ban of vehicle tinting was introduced in the mid 1990’s.
Over his many years in the industry Ken has applied window films to all manner of vehicles from heavy machinery such as, cranes, loaders, diggers, trucks and buses to thousands of private and commercial vehicles. Whatever you drive Ken’s knowledge and experience will ensure you get the best products combined with expert installation to make sure you get the best results possible.
Ken makes sure he is educated in all the latest products and applications via ongoing training in the industry, so you know he has the best up to date products and product knowledge to put your mind at ease when you leave your vehicle in his hands.
Ken reckons that experience and expertise are why the business has grown over the years. Attention to detail is important, “We use a light meter on all our vehicle tint installations to ensure the clients’ vehicles won’t fail WOF because the tints are too dark”.
Ken is also quick to mention that tints aren’t just cosmetic. “The tints block 99% of UV rays and around 50% of heat, which greatly reduces damage to the cars interior and excessive heat inside”. They are also popular with tradesmen who want to keep thieves from knowing what’s inside a locked vehicle. So, tints can increase comfort and security of your car, as well as enhancing the looks.
